The purpose of the Focus on Research Scholar program is to prepare advocates to better understand research findings and to disseminate those findings to a patient community.  Twenty one advocates were selected as Focus on Research Scholars for the 2012 program.  Each advocate was prepared to attend the ASCO Annual meeting through development of backgrounder documents for their disease site, self study and a web lectures series.  After returning to their communities the advocates work with a Research Dissemination Partner to share what they learned through the program.
